Killie defender Simon Ford was stretchered off in the first half after a clash with Sean Dillon and is unlikely to recover in time for Celtic’s visit. Killie did manage to find the back of the net through Mark Burchill, but the referee did not allow the goal to stand.
Celtic bounced back from a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Hearts as they beat Hamilton Academical 2-0 at Parkhead on Boxing Day. Dutch defender Glenn Loovens gave the Bhoys the lead in the 13th minute when he volleyed Barry Robson’s corner past Accies keeper Tomas Cerny. Substitute Niall McGinn confirmed victory for the Hoops with his second half injury time effort.
